Why Awkologist?
I am professor at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. My research combines field, laboratory and computer work. In the late 1990s, when many bacterial genome sequences became available, I started working on comparative genomics. My main command line data processing tool became the scripting language AWK. I then began to teach it and almost praying it – hence: Awkologist.
